Management Services - Claims Handling
All members of the Managers' claims
staff are legally qualified, and are specialists in professional
indemnity matters. All notifications of potential claims are therefore
dealt with in-house and only rarely does the necessity arise to
appoint outside lawyers. The Managers work
closely with the Members, keeping them informed at all times and
where it is necessary to instruct outside lawyers the Managers
will closely monitor their performance to ensure that it is well
directed and cost effective.
Early notification of potential claims
is encouraged in order that the Managers can
assist the Members from the earliest opportunity.
The result is:
- fairness and equity is maintained towards all Members in the
handling of their claims;
- claims are handled cost effectively;
- outside lawyers are closely controlled and costs minimised;
- the Member's commercial requirements are given due consideration;
- the Member and the Managers co-operate closely to minimise
any conflicts of interest that might arise during the handling
of a potential claim.
